Our Demonstration of Dance at Heswall  Hall, Heswall was held on 14 & 15th December 2018.  Everyone performed really well!! We showed our family and friends the different dance styles we can do including Ballet, Tap, Modern / Stage, Freestyle, Cheerleading, Musical Theatre including singing.  A great mix which, from the feedback received in the past, has kept our audiences entertained!  There were a lot of exciting tunes including from The Greatest Showman and Christmas ones and everyone worked really hard.  The helpers backstage were amazing, getting the little ones ready for their next routine and keeping them entertained.  The Ladies, yet again, were absolutely fantastic and really went to town on their costumes!  Some from the Ladies Zumba class also took part again and I was very proud of them.  Congratulations to sisters Lucy & Sophie Johnson and their friends Grace Knipe, Charlotte Isaac and Ceri Wright who performed their choreography competition winning routine.  Their performance was brilliant.  Everyone who helped to make this event a great success – thank you very much!!  With the proceeds of the ticket sales, second hand uniform sales and the raffle we raised £1000.00 for Ronald McDonald House at Arrowe Park Hospital.  Megan Owen from Ronald McDonald House came to watch our performance on Saturday and told us of the work they do and what that money means for the House.  A further £250.00 was donated to St John’s Hospice in memory of one of our Ladies, Pat Kenny, and £250.00 to The Alzheimer’s Society. A grand total of £1500.00!!!!  Thank you everyone who purchased show & raffle tickets and made a donation to our second hand uniform and shoe box.  Trophies and medals were awarded for best attendance and a positive attitude to fellow dancers and the school ethos of encouragement and support.  Rachel Batchelor and Grace Glover were joint winners of our “Spirit of Dance” trophy.  Our next Demonstration is to be held Spring 2020, date to b confirmed.  We are looking forward to it!  We also raised funds at our Macmillan Coffee Morning in September 2018, and for the show costumes at our coffee morning in May. It is a wonderful opportunity to help other members of our community in this way.

Regular attendance is very important to ensure you are eligible for examination entry AND at your best on exam day!!

Our Choreography Competition was held on Saturday 21st April 2018. The winning performance, an excellent and very funny routine by long standing members of the school Grace Knipe, Charlotte Isaac, Ceri Wright and sisters Lucy & Sophie Johnson was a great watch. We look forward to seeing it again in our Demonstration of Dance 2018.  Amber Putman and sisters Olivia & Grace Woods were Junior Section winners.  All entrants had worked very hard, including some of our youngest members. It was a lovely afternoon and we look forward to the next one which will be during autumn term 2019. Perhaps some more adults would like to have a go next time! Many thanks to judges Lynn Gary and Clare McCormack for the excellent job they did and gave their time for free. This allows us to give more to charity.  Second hand uniform and shoe sales also go towards our charity donations.  Thank you to everyone for your support.

In November 2016 the school took part for the first time in a Nationwide Tapathon for Children in Need.  As a UK group we managed to raise a whopping £38,000.00 for this wonderful charity.  What was great?  The routine, the same for everyone all over the country, was a great one for everyone, including mums, dads and grandparents to join in.  We hope to take part again in November 2018.
